The department offers Diploma in ICT & Diploma in Computer Studies ; This courses are aimed at imparting ICT knowledge, skills and attitudes to students leading to productive employment and job creation in the ICT sectors such Software development, Database administration, Network Design and Administration, Systems intergration, Telecommunications among others.

The department’s objective is to produce Diploma and Certificate graduates who meet the market demand and also equip trainees with relevant knowledge; skills, attitudes and values to enable them serve as professional ICT graduates.

ICT being a pillar of the vision 2030 the department offers training that is geared towards practical training in areas such as software development, computer hardware and associated peripherals troubleshooting, repair uand maintenance,computer networks deployment and maintenance, database systems administration & management, data capture, processing, storage and security among others.

The ICT department also offers basic ICT training to other students in the institute irrespective of their area of specialization. The department also extends its services to the entire college by facilitating all the ICT related services such as internet connectivity, ICT support and Computers & related accessories maintenance.

Electrical and Electronics Department

The Department has two main sections, namely:

  • Electrical Power
  • Electronic

The courses offered in the Department. The courses offered in the Department are at Artisan, Craft Certificate and Diploma levels and are examined by Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC)
The department has enough Staff, Lecturers and Technicians and a large population. We have fully embraced the new revised Modular syllabus for both the Certificate and Diploma Courses in Electrical Engineering.

In response to market demands, the department has been offering evening courses for Certificate and Diploma Electrical Power students drawn from the job market since 2007 with significant success. The majority of these evening students have been from Kenya Power.

Diploma programmes.

Diploma courses in Agriculture and Environmental Studies Department aims to provide trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable him/her to work in the construction industry competently as a supervisor of works on site and be able to compute measurements and costs of construction works.

At the end of the relevant diploma course the trainee should be able to:-Understand the role of a technician Acquire skills required in problem solving involving design and construction of buildings Understand the principles of architectural design Acquire knowledge required in management of building construction sites Demonstrate creativity and innovation in the use of ICT in construction industry. Acquire firm foundation for further training in construction industry.

Craft Certificate Programmes

Craft certificate courses in Agriculture and Environmental Studies Department aims to provide the trainee with thorough knowledge of the techniques and appropriate tools for his/her trade. In addition the trainee should acquire a firm grounding in relevant science and technology.

This craftsman should posses some aspects of supervisory skills which would be necessary for the supervision of artisans at operational level and also coordinating their works At the end of the crafts course, the trainee should be able to:-Acquire sufficient drawing knowledge and skills to enable him/her draw and interpret working drawings Use scientific and mathematical knowledge in the solution of relevant craft solutions Acquire knowledge of common relevant craft and other related materials available in Kenya Acquire knowledge for proper use and care of relevant craft tools and equipment Acquaint himself/herself with a range of occupational and training opportunities available in the construction industry Understand the working of both central and county government and develop awareness of how they affect his/her day to day work

The mode of delivery for both Diploma and Craft programmes will be structured course work, workshop / laboratory/studio sessions and industrial attachments, all aimed at providing the trainee with knowledge , skills and attitudes to enable him/her enter the world of work with confidence for either salaried employment or self employment.
